What is a Cash ISA?
A Cash ISA is a savings account in which interest is sheltered from UK income tax. It can offer easy access, a notice period or a fixed term. Rates and conditions depend on the provider.
Your 2026/27 allowance
The total amount you can contribute to ISAs in 2026/27 is £20,000, across the ISA types you hold. If you have already contributed elsewhere, that reduces your remaining allowance. This comparison assumes sufficient unused allowance for any new money.
Who can open one?
Adult ISAs generally require you to be at least 18 and UK resident, with certain exceptions for Crown servants and their spouses or civil partners. Providers may apply additional eligibility conditions. Our form does not establish full eligibility.

Check the minimum and maximum deposit, access restrictions, transfer rules and whether the rate is fixed or variable. A higher headline rate can include a bonus that ends before a full year.
